Finance Solicitor, Dublin
Are you a Banking or Corporate Finance Lawyer looking to step away from standard, repetitive lending deals and move into high-value, strategic work?
We are working with a premier law firm in Dublin looking to hire an ambitious Solicitor (1-4 PQE) into their Structured Finance & Capital Markets team. If you have done a rotation in structured finance during your training contract and/or have a year or two of solid banking experience and want a bigger challenge, this could be a great option.
Why Structured Finance?
Standard corporate lending can often feel like a checklist exercise. This role takes you a step further into the architect side of finance. Instead of just drafting loan agreements, you will be helping global banks, private equity giants, and international hedge funds design complex, multi-million-euro financial structures.
What you'll actually be doing (in plain English):
Helping Irish banks bundle up thousands of standard mortgages or car loans and convert them into massive investment packages.
Setting up special Irish "Section 110" structures to help global Wall Street banks move and manage international debt safely and tax-efficiently.
Working with private equity and credit funds to set up their own direct lending platforms (the future of modern banking!).
Partnering with top-tier Tax and Investment Fund colleagues to build bespoke financial products from scratch.
The Long-Game
Structured Finance is arguably the most lucrative and mobile practice area in global law. Joining this team sets you up for massive long-term career moves:
International investment banks, private equity funds, and global asset managers rarely hire general banking lawyers, they want structured finance experts who understand complex debt assets and regulatory frameworks.
This type of law is highly standardised globally. A few years of experience with these complex structures makes you highly employable in major financial hubs like London, New York, or Cayman.
Because these deals are massive and high-margin for the firm, you get direct exposure to premier global clients early in your career, accelerating your path to Senior Associate or Partner.
Requirements
You are a qualified Solicitor (1-4 years PQE).
You will ideally have structured finance experience, either a seat during your training contract or post-qualification experience from a mid-tier or top-tier firm, however those with solid banking experience will be considered.
You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and want to learn how global financial markets actually operate behind the scenes.
