Senior Legal Counsel - In house

THE COMPANY This highly successful and well known company has an established and sizeable in house legal team that has increased in importance and size over the past few years. It has a strong and positive culture as a place to work, and has attracted high calibre lawyers to work in the team as in house legal counsel. THE ROLE There is a current need to recruit a Senior Legal Adviser to the commercial team. You will be the lead lawyer on many significant large scale projects, often with an IT or Digital focus. This role will incorporate drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, including service, goods, consultancy, agency, high value outsourcing deals and general commercial agreements, and advising on how to manage any associated risks and strengthen relationships with suppliers. ABOUT YOU You'll be a qualified lawyer (solicitor or qualified by experience) with good experience in commercial contracts, and looking to take on responsibility in your role. Given the complexity of the projects it is anticipated you will have at least 5 years pqe to have gained the relevant experience, but this is only a rough guide. Ideally, as well as a strong track record in commercial contracts, you'll also possess good knowledge of data protection, competition law and IP advice for goods/ services agreements. You'll also need exceptional commercial awareness, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a positive communication style. Whilst you'll be part of a wider team, you'll also need to work under your own initiative, under pressure and to tight timescales, and so you'll need excellent organisational skills.
