An AmLaw 50 firm is seeking an associate to join their regarded Sponsor Solutions practice operating at the forefront of the private capital and secondaries market. Over the last decade, the alternatives industry has experienced a fundamental shift in how sponsors and investors approach liquidity. What was once a relatively narrow secondaries market has developed into a complex ecosystem of continuation vehicles, preferred equity solutions, NAV financings, GP stakes transactions, tender offers, fund restructurings, credit secondaries and strategic sponsor investments. Most lawyers working in this space face a trade-off. They either develop expertise within a particular corner of the market or maintain broader exposure across private funds, M&A and finance. This opportunity offers a rare combination of both. This practice was built specifically to advise clients across the full spectrum of sponsor-led liquidity and strategic transactions. Rather than operating within a traditional practice silo, the team brings together lawyers from private funds, M&A, finance, structured finance, tax and regulatory backgrounds to provide integrated advice on some of the market's most innovative transactions. The group regularly acts for many of the most active and sophisticated participants in the private capital industry, including sponsors and investors such as Vista Equity Partners, Brookfield, Ares, TPG, Sixth Street, Coller Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Adams Street Partners, Barings and Sequoia Heritage. Working with both sponsors and lead investors provides associates with a broader perspective on the market than is typically available within a traditional secondaries practice. You can expect to work on a wide range of matters spanning GP-led secondaries, continuation fund transactions, preferred equity investments, NAV lending solutions, GP stakes deals, credit secondaries, fund restructurings and other bespoke liquidity arrangements. The work frequently involves high-profile, cross-border transactions at the cutting edge of the private capital market. For attorneys seeking broader exposure across the private capital landscape without sacrificing the sophistication of their client base or the complexity of their work, this is a particularly attractive opportunity to consider.
