Lancashire | Hybrid Working (2 days office / 3 days home)
Are you a qualified lawyer looking to move beyond purely transactional legal work and become a trusted adviser on privacy and data protection within a truly international business?
We're recruiting for an exceptional opportunity with a market-leading organisation that operates across the UK and Europe. This is a chance to take ownership of privacy and data protection matters while working alongside an experienced in-house legal team on complex, commercially significant projects.
If you're passionate about GDPR, privacy compliance and helping shape business decisions, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
The Role
You'll become the legal lead for data protection and privacy, advising stakeholders across multiple business functions while supporting a broad range of commercial legal matters.
Your work will include:
* Advising on UK GDPR, PECR and wider privacy legislation.
* Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, data sharing arrangements and privacy clauses.
* Supporting DPIAs, data mapping and privacy governance initiatives.
* Advising on commercial contracts and wider legal issues affecting the business.
* Working closely with operational and product teams to embed privacy by design.
* Monitoring legal and regulatory developments across the UK and Europe.
* Delivering practical guidance and training to colleagues across the organisation.
About You
You'll be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with experience gained either in private practice or in-house, ideally including:
* Strong expertise in data protection and privacy law.
* Experience advising on commercial contracts.
* A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to legal advice.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* The confidence to work independently while collaborating across the business.
You'll benefit from:
* A genuinely interesting and varied international workload.
* The opportunity to specialise further in privacy and data protection.
* Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and business decision-making.
* Flexible hybrid working with two days per week in the Lancashire office.
* A supportive, collaborative legal team with excellent work-life balance.
If you're looking for an in-house role where you can develop genuine expertise in privacy law while working for an established, market-leading international business, we'd love to hear from you.
