Head of Legal

Head of Legal Liverpool | 5 days per week office-based Take the next step in your legal career. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 4-6 PQE solicitor looking to take the next step in their career and move into a Head of Legal position. This is a broad, commercially focused in-house role offering the opportunity to become a trusted legal adviser to the business while leading and developing a small, close-knit legal team. You'll have genuine ownership and visibility, working closely with senior stakeholders and supporting a range of business activities, projects and strategic priorities. The role As Head of Legal, you will provide a first-class legal service across the business, managing a varied workload and ensuring that legal considerations are embedded effectively across the organisation. You will: * Lead and manage the day-to-day legal function and oversee legal work across the business. * Provide practical, commercially minded legal advice to stakeholders at all levels, including Directors. * Manage and develop a small team, setting objectives and supporting their professional development. * Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, undertaking horizon scanning and advising the business on their implications. * Support the business in maintaining appropriate legal and governance standards. * Develop strong relationships across the organisation and act as a confident legal voice within the wider business. * Prepare legal management information where required for effective management and Board reporting. About you: We're looking for a qualified solicitor with around 4-6+ years' PQE who is ready to step beyond a purely advisory role and take ownership of a legal function. You don't need previous Head of Legal experience - this could be an ideal opportunity for a strong mid-level lawyer who is ready to make that step up and you'll be supported by the Directors in the business.
