Dispute Resolution/Sports Lawyer - 8+ PQE - Birmingham
Highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Sports focused Commercial Dispute Resolution Lawyer to join its team in Birmingham. This Sports Lawyer opportunity is offered on a full or part-time (4 days a week), permanent basis with flexible and agile working options accommodated. The Role
As a Dispute Resolution/Sports Lawyer in this team, you would:
- Have the opportunity to join a highly regarded national team that provides advice to clients in the sports sector including Premier League Clubs, Players' Unions, Governing bodies, Agencies and Athletes.
- Work on regulatory disputes and conduct international and domestic dispute resolution (including litigation, arbitration and mediations) in various courts and tribunals (primarily domestic sports tribunals, FIFA, UEFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport).
About You
To be successful in your application for this Commercial Dispute Resolution vacancy, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or Barrister) with a minimum of eight years' PQE.
- Have experience in handling complex regulatory/contentious matters in a sports law context.
- Have good commercial awareness and an understanding of financial information (e.g. being able to understand a company's financial records, Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss statements etc.).
- Have working knowledge of general commercial and corporate laws and employment law.
- Ideally have broader entertainment and media experience (not essential).
- Have the ability to generate new revenue streams to the firm or otherwise have good contacts and be willing to engage in business development and networking.
- A good teamwork ethic.
- Spanish language skills would be an advantage as would a Masters in International Sports Law.
