Head of Corporate | Cheshire We are working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Corporate Solicitor to join a growing and ambitious law firm in Cheshire as Head of Corporate. About the Role: The firm has an established presence in the North West market and is looking to appoint a senior Corporate lawyer to lead and further develop its Corporate offering. This is a strategic leadership appointment, reporting directly to the Owner and Managing Director as part of the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of high-quality corporate work, including M&A transactions, shareholder agreements, restructures, joint ventures, and commercial contracts, while playing a key role in shaping the future direction and growth of the department. Importantly, no following is required for the role, although naturally this would be advantageous, as the successful candidate would be taking over from the outgoing Head of Corporate. What You'll Do: · Lead and develop the Corporate department, including supervising and mentoring junior lawyers. · Advise clients on a broad range of corporate matters including M&A, shareholder agreements, restructures, joint ventures, and commercial contracts. · Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients. · Play a key role in the strategic growth and direction of the department. · Support business development initiatives and represent the firm across the market. · Work closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth of the business. The structure provides a genuine opportunity for an experienced lawyer to shape and build the department with significant autonomy and long-term progression prospects. The Ideal Candidate: · Senior Corporate Solicitor with strong experience across a broad range of corporate transactions. · Proven experience advising on M&A, restructures, shareholder agreements, and general corporate advisory matters. · Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience would be advantageous. · Excellent technical and commercial awareness. · Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills. · A commercially minded and proactive approach to business development. · Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to play a key role within a growing and entrepreneurial business. Why This Role? · Leadership Opportunity: Step into a genuine Head of Department/Partner-level role. · Career Progression: Excellent long-term progression prospects within an ambitious and growing firm. · Autonomy & Influence: Significant input into the strategic direction and development of the Corporate team. · Existing Platform: Established workstreams and client relationships already in place. · Supportive Environment: Work closely with senior leadership within a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture. If you are a senior Corporate lawyer looking for a broader leadership opportunity offering quality work, autonomy, and genuine progression prospects, we would be delighted to speak with you.
