Operations Manager - Legal / Technology & Innovation
Cheshire | Predominantly office based
I'm working with a well-established law firm in Cheshire that is looking to appoint an Operations Manager into a newly created and genuinely varied role.
This is a slightly different Operations position. Ideally, you'll be a qualified Solicitor with a strong interest in the operational and technological side of a law firm, rather than someone coming purely from a traditional operations background.
You'll work firm-wide across all teams, acting as a key link between the legal teams, management, IT and external technology providers.
A big part of the role will be around the firm's ongoing use and development of technology and AI, including implementing new systems, improving workflows and making sure new technology is effectively adopted across the business.
The role will involve:
Working across the firm to identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
Leading and supporting the implementation of new systems and technology
Playing a key role in the firm's ongoing adoption and use of AI
Meeting with technology and software providers and managing those relationships
Acting as the go-between for fee earners/users and the internal IT function
Understanding what the legal teams need and translating this into practical technology solutions
Supporting system development, testing and implementation
Helping to improve workflows and processes across different departments
Working closely with senior management on operational projects
Providing training, support and guidance to teams when new systems are introduced
This would suit a Solicitor who enjoys the operational/technical side of the profession and is looking for something different from a traditional fee-earning role.
Equally, if you've already moved into a legal operations, innovation, systems or technology-focused position, I'd be keen to speak with you.
It's a unique opportunity to have genuine influence across an entire law firm, rather than being tied to one particular department.
The role is predominantly office based in Cheshire.
If you're a Solicitor with an interest in legal tech, AI, systems, innovation and improving how a law firm operates, I'd be interested in hearing from you.
BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
