Solicitor / Associate - Insurance (Abuse & Social Care)

A well-established Legal 500 firm with a strong presence across the North is looking to recruit a Solicitor / Associate to join its Insurance team, specifically within its Abuse & Social Care practice.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Social Care Solicitor to join a well-established team handling a varied and complex caseload, with the opportunity to work closely with Senior Associates and Partners and take on increasing responsibility.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of Social Services and Abuse matters, providing strategic legal advice and acting for clients through negotiation, mediation and litigation where required.
The role will include:
Managing a varied and complex caseload of Social Care and Abuse matters.
Providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.
Assessing risk and developing appropriate case strategies.
Conducting advocacy and attending court and tribunals.
Negotiating and litigating matters through to resolution.
Working closely with Senior Associates and Partners on complex cases.
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, including Solicitors, Trainees and support staff.
Contributing to the wider development of the team and client relationships.
About You
The firm is looking for a qualified Solicitor or CILEX with 4+ years' PQE and a strong background in Social Care / Social Services work.
Ideally, you will have:
Solid experience handling your own Social Care / Social Services caseload.
Strong knowledge of the Social Care sector.
Experience with advocacy and attending court / tribunals.
Excellent client care and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality legal documentation.
Experience supervising or supporting junior team members would be advantageous.
An interest in business development and developing client relationships would also be beneficial.
This would suit someone looking to join a well-established Insurance practice, with genuine scope for career development and progression within a collaborative team.
Location
The role is based at the firm's Lancashire office, with good access from Preston, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn and Greater Manchester, and convenient motorway links.
