Role - Legal Counsel:
An opportunity has arisen for a commercial solicitor to join an established in-house legal team as Legal Counsel.
Primarily commercial and contractual in focus, as Legal Counsel you will partner closely with key stakeholders across the business functions and various company divisions, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal support.
Primary responsibilities will include: drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, including but not limited to B2B customer and supplier agreements, technology contracts and tender documentation; supporting and advising on data protection and data processing matters; providing training and guidance to stakeholders; and helping to resolve other ad hoc legal and commercial issues that may arise.
You will generally be dealing with the UK&I region, and supporting the sales and commercial teams, and other central functions and departments.
About you:
You will be a UK-qualified solicitor / Legal Counsel with around 0-3 years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within the commercial team of a notable private practice law firm, or in-house.
In addition, our client is willing to consider applications from part-qualified SQE trainee solicitors who are seeking a move. To be considered, you must have solid and relevant pre-qualification commercial experience, ideally in-house.
Whatever your level of qualification, a strong background in commercial contracts (B2B, suppliers, technology, NDAs etc.) is essential, and you will ideally have some experience, or an interest in, data protection and privacy law.
