Employment Investigations Specialist | Senior Role | Birmingham | Hybrid Working Available
BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading UK law firm on the recruitment of their first dedicated Investigations Specialist, based in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to join a top-tier employment practice and play a key role in shaping and growing a new national Investigations Unit.
The Role
As demand increases for independent support with workplace investigations - including grievances, disciplinary issues, and sensitive internal matters - this newly created role offers the chance to lead and manage complex investigations for a broad range of clients.
Working closely with senior partners and employment law specialists, you'll also help drive the development and expansion of the Investigations Unit as part of the firm's national Employment, Pensions & Immigration team.
The role is Birmingham-based, with hybrid working available. Some UK travel may be required, depending on the needs of specific investigations.
The Candidate
You will bring significant experience conducting or advising on workplace investigations, ideally at a senior level.
You may be:
An experienced HR or Employee Relations professional
An employment lawyer looking to move into a dedicated investigations role
A specialist in workplace resolution or risk, with a strong understanding of process and compliance
You will also demonstrate:
Excellent analytical and evidence evaluation skills
Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders in sensitive settings
Strong written English and experience producing high-quality reports
Empathy, sound judgment, and the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally
A proactive and highly organised approach, with an eye for detail
