BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly respected national law firm on the recruitment of an Employment Partner for its growing Birmingham office. This is a strategic appointment within one of the UK's leading employment law teams, offering an excellent platform for an experienced lawyer with strong client relationships and a commercial mindset.
The Role
This is a key leadership role within a high-performing employment team, which advises a diverse client base across the healthcare, education, and private sectors, including:
NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
Schools, academies, and further education providers
National and regional private sector employers
The work is broad-ranging and includes:
Complex employee relations and organisational change projects
Restructuring and redundancy advice
Workforce governance and compliance matters
Executive terminations, settlements, and reputational risk
Employment tribunal claims and dispute resolution
TUPE and workforce-related transactional support
You'll also work closely with HR professionals, pensions, commercial and regulatory lawyers across the wider firm to deliver an integrated service to clients.
The Candidate
A senior employment lawyer with significant experience advising employer clients
A following, or demonstrable track record of business development and client relationship growth
Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
Experience in healthcare, education, or commercial sectors (or a combination)
Confident in leading client relationships and mentoring junior team members
Looking to take on a visible, strategic role within a firm that supports long-term career growth
