Property Litigation Lawyer | Senior Associate / Legal Director | Leading National Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid Working Available
BCL Legal is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to recruit a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its top-ranked Property Litigation team, based in Birmingham.
This is a superb opportunity for an experienced property litigation specialist to join one of the UK's largest and most respected real estate disputes teams, working on some of the most complex and high-profile matters in the market.
The Role
This is a key role within a high-performing team that acts for a broad range of major real estate clients, including:
National and regional housebuilders
Institutional investors and pension funds
Developers, property companies, and landlords
Telecoms and infrastructure operators
You will be involved in a wide range of high-value and strategic property disputes, including:
Development-related issues (rights to light, nuisance claims, vacant possession strategies)
Contract disputes involving land, including overage, conditional contracts, and breach
Professional negligence claims relating to real estate transactions
Landlord and tenant disputes including 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations, and forfeiture
Enforcement and removal of easements or restrictive covenants
Rent reviews, service charge disputes, and insolvency-related real estate issues
There is also the opportunity to specialise in more niche areas such as mines and minerals disputes, telecoms litigation, or Living Sector work.
You'll play an active role in both managing your own caseload and contributing to larger team matters. Supervising junior colleagues and engaging with clients and third-party professionals (surveyors, advocates, etc.) will form a regular part of your work.
The Candidate
You will ideally:
Be a qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE in property litigation
Have experience in development-related disputes (desirable but not essential)
Be technically strong, practical, and commercially minded
Have experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
Be confident handling a busy and varied caseload
Be a collaborative team player, committed to excellence and client service
