Senior Associate - Employment | National Employment Practice | Birmingham | 5+ PQE An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Associate to join a highly regarded national employment team based in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders on a broad mix of employment matters, while playing a key part in the growth and development of a thriving practice. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment work, acting for clients across a range of sectors. The team advises on all aspects of employment law, including internal HR processes, tribunal litigation, and transactional support. Key responsibilities include: Advising on redundancies, grievances, disciplinary processes, whistleblowing, discrimination, and unfair dismissal claims. Running Employment Tribunal matters from initial instruction through to final hearing. Supporting corporate transactions, including TUPE and employee-related due diligence. Advising on complex restructuring projects and consultation requirements. Contributing to the development of junior lawyers through mentoring and supervision. Supporting the wider business through client relationship management and business development initiatives. What will help you succeed in this role? Essential: 5-10 years' PQE in Employment Law gained at a leading national or regional firm. Strong technical expertise in both contentious and advisory employment work. Experience running Tribunal litigation with minimal supervision. Proven ability to manage your own caseload and prioritise competing deadlines. Excellent drafting, negotiation and client communication skills. Desirable: Experience advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions (including TUPE). A collaborative approach and interest in team development. Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
