A leading national law firm is looking to recruit a talented and motivated Employment Associate with 3+ years' post-qualification experience to join its well-regarded Employment, Pensions and Immigration team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-profile client base - particularly within the public sector - and to take on a caseload of challenging and high-value employment matters, with the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement from either Birmingham.

You'll be joining a market-leading employment team that handles complex advisory and contentious work for some of the UK's most prominent employers. You'll also have the chance to work closely with a key public sector client, offering strategic, long-term legal support and managing a variety of sensitive tribunal claims.
The Role
As an Employment Associate, you will:
- Manage your own caseload of complex employment tribunal matters, particularly focused on discrimination and whistleblowing claims
- Provide clear, strategic employment law advice to public sector clients on a range of issues including grievance handling, disciplinaries, absence management, and workplace disputes
- Conduct advocacy at preliminary hearings
- Draft and review employment documentation and submissions
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and maintain high standards of client service
- Analyse trends and contribute to MI reporting for clients
- Work in accordance with internal and external service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Contribute to the wider success of the team and firm through collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Please note: this role is subject to additional security vetting due to client requirements.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' PQE in employment law, ideally including experience advising public sector clients
- Experience managing employment tribunal cases from inception to conclusion
- Strong technical legal skills and a commercial, solution-focused mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advocacy experience (preferred)
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- A methodical and organised approach to legal work and client management
