BCL Legal is pleased to be working with a nationally recognised law firm seeking a Housing Litigation Solicitor or Associate to join its expanding team in Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity for a solicitor with 1+ years' PQE to work on a broad and stimulating range of housing litigation matters within a highly supportive, collaborative environment.
The Team
The Housing Litigation team is one of the most established and respected specialist teams in the sector, advising landlord clients exclusively, including housing associations, local authorities, charity landlords and housing co-operatives across England.
The team is known for delivering clear, practical and commercially focused advice on anti-social behaviour litigation, disrepair, possession proceedings, access injunctions and leasehold disputes.
You will be joining a friendly, dynamic group of housing litigation specialists operating within a flexible hybrid working model and committed to excellent client service.
The Role
Working alongside highly experienced lawyers and partners, you will:
Manage your own caseload of housing litigation matters
Run ASB injunctions and possession claims
Defend disrepair claims and supervise legal assistants
Undertake advocacy at possession hearings and injunction returns
Advise on housing management issues, policy reviews and compliance
Handle leasehold and shared ownership disputes
Draft and review court applications, witness statements and other legal documents
Build trusted relationships with landlord clients and provide clear, plain-English advice
Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the team
About You
You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with:
1+ PQE in housing or residential leasehold litigation
Confidence in advocacy and court work
Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills
The ability to supervise junior colleagues and work collaboratively
A client-focused approach with excellent communication skills
A genuine interest in supporting social housing clients
