Employment Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) | National Law Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid Working Available A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join its highly regarded Employment team. This is a permanent position with hybrid working to be based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in a Chambers-ranked Employment practice, enhancing efficiency, shaping knowledge management, and ensuring the team remains at the forefront of employment law developments. The Role As a PSL in this growing national Employment team, you will work closely with the Head of Employment and senior lawyers to ensure the team delivers cutting-edge advice to a wide range of clients. Responsibilities will include: Knowledge Management: Curating, maintaining, and disseminating legal resources, including precedents, contracts, and policies. Capturing insights from practice and sharing across the team. Legal Updates: Delivering regular case law and legislative updates, including horizon scanning for developments such as the forthcoming Employment Rights Bill. Leading training and induction for new joiners. Client Engagement: Contributing to client-facing initiatives including articles, guides, podcasts, seminars, and webinars, aligned with business development strategies. Advisory Support: Acting as a trusted resource for technical queries, providing practical, commercial solutions to complex employment law issues. Practice Development: Working with legal technology teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies, and support product innovation. Collaboration: Engaging with PSLs across other practice areas and working alongside consulting teams to deliver joined-up client solutions. The Team The Employment team has a wealth of experience advising on the full spectrum of workforce issues, including recruitment, immigration, pay and benefits, training and development, and workforce exits. The practice is known for its pragmatic, solution-focused approach and for partnering closely with HR teams, senior management, and business leaders to deliver effective outcomes. The Candidate Qualified Solicitor with 7+ years' PQE in Employment law Strong technical knowledge and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and commercially Experience in professional support, training, or knowledge management is desirable but not essential Skilled in using legal research platforms (e.g., Practical Law, Westlaw, LexisLibrary) Excellent communication, drafting, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail Collaborative, proactive, and commercially minded, with a passion for driving innovation and sharing knowledge Confident using legal tech and willing to explore new tools to enhance efficiency What's on Offer?
