Employment Lawyer | Associate | Birmingham | Hybrid Working
A leading national law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Employment team in Birmingham. This permanent role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for a diverse client base, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
As an Associate in the Employment team, you will:
Represent clients in Employment Tribunals, including Directions and Preliminary Hearings
Prepare tribunal cases, including drafting claims, responses, witness statements and skeleton arguments
Provide corporate support on TUPE issues, due diligence, indemnities and warranties in transactions
Draft and advise on employment contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures
Advise employers on disciplinary processes, grievance investigations, redundancy programmes and family-friendly rights (e.g. maternity, paternity, flexible working)
Support departmental initiatives including training, seminars, precedent updates and thought-leadership materials
Contribute to business development and client care initiatives alongside the wider team
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be:
A Qualified Solicitor with 2-5 years' PQE in employment law (both contentious and advisory)
Experienced in tribunal advocacy and drafting litigation documents
Commercially astute, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice
Organised and able to manage deadlines and competing priorities
A strong communicator who can build lasting client relationships
A proactive team player with enthusiasm for contributing to business development activities
