A leading national law firm is seeking a Property Litigation Associate or Senior Associate (2+ PQE) to join its growing Real Estate Division in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality, meaningful property litigation matters within a supportive team and a firm known for its sector expertise.
The Division
The Real Estate Division advises a wide range of clients including NHS bodies, local authorities, independent health and social care providers, emergency services organisations and primary healthcare providers. The team is recognised for its high-quality work and its strong reputation across specialist sectors.
The division handles a broad spectrum of matters including development projects, regeneration schemes, landlord and tenant matters, asset management, major land disposals, as well as specialist property litigation and primary care work.
The Role
The Property Litigation team, part of the wider Real Estate department, is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join its expanding practice in Birmingham. You will work closely with experienced partners and colleagues on a varied and interesting caseload, with recent work including:
Advising on restrictive covenants and easements in connection with site disposals
Lease renewals and 1954 Act security of tenure matters
Court action involving unlawful occupiers and "bed blocker" removal
Securing orders to remove squatters from central London properties
GP partnership disputes handled through court proceedings and arbitration
High-value dilapidations disputes
Break notices to support significant estate reorganisations
Judicial review proceedings involving planning decisions for clinical developments
Recovery of arrears from commercial tenants
You will work with a broad and well-known client base and collaborate across the firm's health, local government, housing, emergency services and primary care sectors.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in property litigation (essential)
Strong legal, analytical and communication skills
A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for the team's work
The ability to provide clear, practical advice to clients
A willingness to develop, take initiative and try new approaches
Strong client-handling and business development skills
The ability to support and supervise junior colleagues constructively
