Employment Senior Associate | 4+ PQE | Birmingham We are working with a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE to join its well-regarded Birmingham team at Senior Associate level. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration practice, with a particular focus on advising clients across the healthcare and care sectors, alongside a broad commercial client base. The Role: Advise on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Manage Employment Tribunal claims from inception through to conclusion. Provide strategic day-to-day employment advice to healthcare and care sector clients, including both private healthcare providers and NHS organisations. Advise on employee relations, disciplinary and grievance matters, restructures, redundancies and other complex employment issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with a varied portfolio of healthcare, health and care and commercial clients. Support clients operating within highly regulated environments, providing commercially focused and practical employment advice. Deliver client training sessions, seminars and legal updates. Delegate work to and support junior members of the team. Play an active role in business development and contribute to the continued growth of the Employment practice. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm's national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE in employment law. Strong experience gained within a reputable employment practice or relevant in-house environment. Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Ability to lead on Employment Tribunal matters and manage advisory work with appropriate autonomy. Strong client management skills, with the ability to develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. Excellent written, communication and presentation skills. Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail. Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Confident working collaboratively as part of a national team and able to delegate effectively to junior colleagues. A proactive, self-starting approach with a genuine enthusiasm for employment law. Desirable Skills: Experience advising healthcare, NHS or wider health and care sector clients. Previous experience advising large employers or organisations operating within regulated sectors. Advocacy experience. Experience delivering client training and legal updates. An interest in business development, networking and developing client relationships.
