Senior Associate - Private Wealth | 6+ PQE | Birmingham We are working with a leading international law firm seeking a Senior Associate with 6+ years' PQE to join its growing Private Wealth team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded practice advising high net worth individuals, families, family offices and trustees on a broad range of UK and international private wealth matters. The team has an excellent reputation for delivering sophisticated tax, estate and succession planning advice, including complex cross-border work. The successful candidate will benefit from high-quality instructions, close Partner support and genuine opportunities for career progression within a collaborative and supportive environment. The Role Advise high net worth individuals, families, trustees and family offices on a broad range of private wealth matters. Handle estate and asset protection planning, succession planning and capital tax matters. Draft wills, including tax-efficient wills and wills incorporating trusts. Create and advise on onshore trusts and wider trust structures. Advise on probate planning, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters. Support clients on international and cross-border tax, residence and domicile planning. Work closely with Partners on complex UK and international private client matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives. Supervise and mentor junior lawyers within the team. Work collaboratively with colleagues across a nationally recognised Tax and Private Wealth practice. Candidate Requirements - Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years' PQE in private client law. - Strong experience advising on wills, trusts, estate administration and tax planning. - Experience acting for high net worth individuals, families and trustees. - Exposure to international private wealth or cross-border tax planning would be advantageous. - STEP qualified or working towards STEP accreditation is desirable. - Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong written and verbal communication abilities with confidence in client-facing situations. - Commercially aware with the ability to provide practical, client-focused advice. - Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. - A collaborative team player with enthusiasm for business development and long-term career progression.
