Real Estate Dispute Resolution Senior Associate | 5+ PQE | Birmingham
BCL Legal is working with a leading national law firm seeking an experienced Real Estate Dispute Resolution Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a respected partner and experienced team, handling a broad range of high-quality property disputes for an impressive client base including developers, investors, landlords, tenants and public sector organisations.
The Role:
Manage your own caseload of complex real estate disputes with appropriate supervision.
Advise on a broad range of landlord and tenant disputes, including lease renewals, dilapidations and forfeiture.
Handle development-related disputes including rights of light, restrictive covenants and boundary disputes.
Manage possession proceedings, trespass claims and property enforcement matters.
Support property insolvency and other contentious real estate work.
Draft pleadings, witness statements and instructions to counsel.
Attend court hearings, mediations and client meetings.
Support partners and senior colleagues on complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters.
Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contributing to training and knowledge sharing across the team.
Build strong client relationships and become involved in business development initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5+ years' PQE in property litigation or real estate dispute resolution.
Strong technical knowledge of landlord and tenant law and wider real estate disputes.
Experience of County Court and First-tier Tribunal proceedings.
Confident managing your own caseload while working collaboratively within a wider team.
Commercially minded with excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy abilities.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
