Senior Associate / Legal Director - Leasehold Enfranchisement | 5+ PQE | Birmingham A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its highly regarded Property Disputes team in Birmingham, specialising in Leasehold Enfranchisement. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established national practice, working with a broad range of major landlord, investor, developer and leaseholder clients on complex enfranchisement matters. The Role: Advise large estate landlords, investors, developers and tenants on a broad range of leasehold enfranchisement matters. Handle statutory lease extension claims, collective enfranchisement claims and Right to Manage (RTM) applications. Advise on tenants' rights of first refusal and the implications of enfranchisement reform. Manage statutory lease extension and enfranchisement claims, acting for both landlords and leaseholders. Negotiate settlements and advise clients on proposed terms and strategies in enfranchisement claims. Advise public and private-sector clients on complex freehold and leasehold enfranchisement issues. Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing practical and commercially focused advice. Prepare detailed reports and ensure matters are managed effectively and in accordance with regulatory and internal procedures. Take an active role in marketing initiatives and business development. Contribute to departmental training and support the development of junior colleagues. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years' relevant PQE, or equivalent experience gained within a reputable law firm. Strong technical knowledge and experience of freehold and leasehold enfranchisement is essential. Experience handling statutory lease extensions, collective enfranchisement and Right to Manage claims. Ideally experienced in acting for both landlords and leaseholders. Strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach. Excellent technical, drafting and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in plain English. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Confident in managing client relationships and handling matters independently. Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
