Real Estate Disputes Lawyer | London
A well-established London law firm is looking to appoint an Associate into its highly regarded Real Estate Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a property litigation lawyer seeking high-quality work, early responsibility, and a clear platform for long-term career development.
The team is known for its collegiate culture, strong technical reputation, and broad real estate disputes practice, acting for a diverse client base that includes developers, investors, landlords, tenants, funders, high-net-worth individuals, hoteliers and retailers.
This role offers exposure to a genuinely varied real estate disputes practice, with work structured across four core workstreams:
- Development & Neighbourly Rights; Including Building Safety matters, Party Wall etc. Act 1996, rights of light, boundary disputes, easements, nuisance and related claims.
- Residential Property Disputes; Enfranchisement, possession claims, service charge disputes, co-ownership issues and tenancy enforcement.
- Commercial Asset Management; Lease renewals, forfeiture, dilapidations, break notices, rent reviews and insolvency-related disputes.
- Property Contract & Construction-Related Disputes; Specific performance, injunctions, building defects, professional negligence and misrepresentation claims.
You will work closely with senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters while also running your own caseload, dealing directly with clients and building trusted relationships from an early stage. The firm actively supports associates who want to develop a profile, take ownership of work and progress their careers in a structured but non-hierarchical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on a wide range of contentious real estate and property disputes
- Managing matters from initial instruction through to resolution, trial or settlement
- Drafting pre-action correspondence, pleadings and witness evidence
- Issuing and managing court proceedings where required
- Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts and other third parties
- Providing strategic, commercial advice to clients, including urgent and time-critical issues
- Attending client meetings, mediations and conferences with counsel
- Assisting with costs management, fee estimates and liaison with costs professionals and insurers
- Supervising and supporting trainees and paralegals as part of a collaborative team environment
About You:
- UK-qualified solicitor with 2-5 years post-qualification experience in real estate dispute resolution / property litigation
- Strong technical grounding combined with commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to disputes
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with clients and stakeholders at all levels
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines effectively
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in contributing to team and firm culture
