Employment Senior Associate/Legal Director 8+ PQE - Leeds A leading national firm seeks an Employment Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their market-leading team, based in Leeds. This is a great opportunity to join an established national team with an impressive portfolio of clients, many of which are household names. Joining this firm, you will find yourself working alongside some of the most talented lawyers in the country, many of which are recognised as leading lawyers in all major legal directories and the firm itself has strong recognition across the country. The Opportunity As a key member of the national employment practice, your work will cover the following key sectors: commercial services, financial services, higher education and housing and there is a good mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. The team is made up of highly skilled and experienced litigators and can expect to be involved in ground-breaking employment litigation, whether this is Tribunal, the EAT, the Court of Appeal or the High Court. You will work collaboratively with colleagues nationally cross-office. The team therefore operate a very flexible hybrid working model, though they do meet regularly virtually and in-person as one team. You will play a pivotal role in driving further success of the team and there are real prospects of further progression to Partner for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities will include: · Managing your own caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters · Supervising and advising on employee relations matters including internal disciplinary/grievance/capability processes, reviewing policies and procedures and contracts · Advising on equalities obligations, conduct of and/or support on Employment Tribunals · Advising on TUPE processes including drafting of commercial agreements · Delivering training on a broad range of employment issues where necessary · Supervising junior colleagues in the team. · Supporting with business development. The Ideal Candidate: You will be a Qualified Solicitor with at least 8 years PQE and proven experience in providing wide-ranging commercial employment advice, ideally across the team's core sectors. You will also have the following skills/experience: · Handling contentious and non-contentious matters · Ideally some advocacy experience, but not essential · Exceptional client management skills and a keen interest in business development · Managing complex Employment Tribunal claims · Advising on employee relations issues to include settlement negotiations · Advising on restructures. Redundancy processes and TUPE issues · Reviewing and drafting policies and contractual and policy advice There is a highly competitive salary on offer up to around £90k depending on experience, a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
