Housing Development Paralegal | Leading National Firm | Leeds A leading national firm is looking for an ambitious Housing/Development Paralegal to join their growing team in Leeds. The Opportunity: The housing development team cover all aspects of property development, with a particular focus on dealing with residential developments for national and regional developers, with sites throughout the country. As a paralegal in this team, you will manage your own caseload of non-contentious property matters under supervision from a Partner and supporting the wider team with larger transactions, specifically: · Working on site acquisitions, developments and disposals for private and social housing developers; supporting the due diligence and reporting that entails, specifically commissioning searches, monitoring results and reporting on results; obtaining title information and indemnity insurance and drafting documentation, Reports and Contracts. · Liaising with Plans Technicians in relation to the preparation of Title Overlay Plans and all mapping / plans issues. · Dealing with client and third-party queries and chasing for responses where appropriate. · Preparing engrossments of legal documents for implementation, and sending those to the correct parties. · Preparing matters for exchange and completion and liaising with key clients regarding funds, in accordance with their respective procedures. · Dealing with all post completion formalities, including preparing Land Registry applications and liaising with the Land Registry in respect of the applications and responding to requisitions and submitting SDLT returns. · Assisting the team in the running of matters including updating any case management system and ensuring client and matter records are maintained in line with firm and client procedures. · Collating the frequent Update Reports for key clients and in accordance with agreed timescales. · Actively contributing to business development activities to develop the client base and the profile of the firm. Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate for this role will preferably have experience with acting for a private and/or social housing developers. As well as this, the following skills are essential: · The ability to work to challenging timescales whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and sound judgement. · Skilled in establishing strong rapport and relationships with clients and colleagues. · Strong planning and prioritisation skills and the ability to work with urgency to move matters forward · The ability to work within and as part of multi-discipline teams. · A strong commercial acumen and willing to take part in business development. The successful candidate can expect to be offered a competitive salary in the region of £25k depending on experience, as well as hybrid working and a range of other benefits.
