Housing Litigation Paralegal - Leeds A leading national firm is looking for a Paralegal to join their fast-paced Social Housing team, based in Leeds with hybrid working. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their litigation skills in a well-regarded and growing team. THE OPPORTUNITY This highly regarded firm has seen years of consecutive growth, with exciting plans to continue. The Social Housing team is one of the key sources of growth within the firm currently and due to an increase in client instructions, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Paralegal to join them. The successful candidate will work closely with three existing paralegals managing housing disrepair claims. The team act for social housing providers in defending claims brought by tenants. This is a busy, fast-paced team, but you will have ample support from the outset and there is lots of room for learning and development. Key Responsibilities include: · Assisting with housing disrepair litigation under supervision. · Opening and closing files and everything inbetween, to include file management, administration and updating the case management system. · Ensuring client and matter records are maintained in line with firm procedures. · Assisting solicitors with any other matters within the social housing team. ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will be an experienced paralegal or someone looking to step into a paralegal role for the first time, with at least a 2:1 undergraduate law degree. Other requirements include: · Confident in conducting legal research. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative. · Clear, articulate and confident in written and verbal communication skills. · Litigation experience and an understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules is desirable, but not essential. · Social Housing experience is also advantageous, but not essential. OTHER INFORMATION · Hybrid working (40% office-based). · Competitive starting salary of £23,000. · Significant opportunities for development.
