BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting a highly regarded national law firm in its recruitment of an experienced Employment lawyer to join its team in Cambridge. This Employment Senior Associate opportunity is offered on a full time, permanent basis with flexible and agile working options accommodated and hybrid 50/50 working as standard. The Role
As an Employment Senior Associate in this Legal 500 tier 1 ranked team, you would:
- Have the opportunity to join a highly regarded national team that provides advice to clients across a broad spectrum of sectors including the private, higher education, health and charity sectors. This role however is focused on acting for private sector (commercial) clients.
- Work on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters including:
* Disciplinary and grievance matters.
* Redundancies and reorganisations.
* Capability and performance management (including ill health matters).
* Equality, diversity and inclusion matters.
* Drafting contracts of employment, executive service agreements, policies and procedures, settlement agreements and COT3s.
* Corporate support work; advising on the employment/TUPE provisions in transactional documents.
* Employment Tribunal matters, including drafting pleadings, Tribunal applications, case management agendas, witness statements, handling disclosure and conducting/concluding without prejudice negotiations.
About You
To be successful in your application for this Employment Senior Associate vacancy, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or Barrister) with a minimum of five years' PQE in employment law.
- Have strong experience of acting for employers on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Have an appetite to work on complex matters.
- Have a strong teamwork ethic.
- Have an understanding of business management.
- Have experience of conducting some Tribunal advocacy or an interest in doing so.
