Our client, a highly respected national law firm with an international footprint, is seeking a 4+ PQE solicitor to join its renowned Education Employment team. The Opportunity
Working within one of the UK's largest and most established employment practices, you will benefit from a unique mix of contentious and non-contentious instructions, sector-focused project work and the opportunity to advise some of the most prominent names in higher and further education, as well as schools, academies and private education providers.
Key Responsibilities
You will act for a broad range of education sector clients on a wide variety of employment law matters, including:
- Advising on staffing elements of mergers, collaborations, restructures and international projects
- Handling industrial relations and collective workforce issues
- Managing senior exits, settlement negotiations and governance considerations
- Advising on equality, discrimination, whistleblowing and regulatory matters
- Running and supervising complex Employment Tribunal litigation, including multi-day hearings
- Supporting clients with policy drafting, contract development and governance frameworks
- Delivering bespoke client training, thought leadership and sector-specific insights
- Leading and contributing to business development initiatives within the Education sector
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally bring:
- 4+ years' PQE in Employment Law
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters
- Direct experience advising the Education sector-schools, colleges and/or universities in the UK
- An understanding of the current challenges faced by education institutions
