Employment Associate - Manchester
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Associate to join a highly regarded and fast-growing Employment team based in Manchester.
This Legal 500 and Chambers-recognised practice is known for its collaborative culture, entrepreneurial mindset and high-quality work. The team acts for an impressive client base, including well-known household names. The practice also has a strong reputation for acting for senior employees, directors and executives.

The Role
Working closely with recognised Partners, the successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of predominantly respondent and some claimant matters, advising both employers and individuals across the full spectrum of employment law matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising employers and employees on all aspects of UK employment law, including discrimination, redundancy, disciplinary and grievance processes, and employment contracts and policies
- Acting for clients on both respondent and claimant matters
- Representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings, mediations and settlement negotiations
- Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements
- Working collaboratively within a positive, inclusive and high-performing team
- Supporting the growth of the practice through business development, networking and speaking engagements
Candidate Profile
This opportunity will suit a driven and commercially minded Employment lawyer, ideally with 2-6 years' PQE, although applications from candidates with broader experience are welcomed.
A strong technical grounding in UK employment law, with hands-on advisory and contentious experience
Confidence in handling Employment Tribunal matters
An interest in business development and contributing to the continued growth of the team
A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment
