Legal Counsel

You will be joining a well-established, fast-growing business operating at scale in the UK, with a strong reputation in its sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a lean, high-calibre in-house legal team at a genuinely interesting stage of growth. The legal function plays a central role in the business and is closely aligned with senior leadership. You will work in a flat structure, reporting directly into an experienced and highly supportive General Counsel. The Role As Legal Counsel, you will support the business across a wide range of contentious & non-contentious matters. The work is varied and hands-on, with real responsibility from day one. Key aspects of the role include: · Advising on a range of commercial contracts (c.70% of the role) · Managing and triaging contentious matters, including disputes relating to liability, supply chain issues, insurance-adjacent matters and regulatory claims · Taking ownership of lower-value disputes in-house where appropriate, drafting correspondence and working with external counsel when escalation is required · Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business, offering practical, solutions-focused advice · Working closely with the General Counsel and wider legal colleagues on more complex or strategic matters About You · You will be a UK-qualified lawyer between 2-5 years PQE · Likely to suit someone at an early stage of their career in-house, or a lawyer coming straight from private practice · Strong academic background · Solid grounding in commercial contracts, with prior exposure to contentious work · Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment Apply now for immediate consideration, or feel free to contact me directly for a confidential discussion.
