PRIVATE CLIENT SOLICITOR (4PQE - PARTNER LEVEL)
A prestigious full-service law firm located in the heart of Newcastle city centre, is expanding its Private Client team. This is an exceptional chance for a seasoned Private Client Solicitor to join a dynamic and high-performing department.
This role allows you to work in state-of-the-art offices with a team that values excellence and client satisfaction. The firm provides a comprehensive service across a wide range of practice areas, ensuring a diverse and stimulating work environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and accurate legal advice and guidance to both existing and new clients.
- Manage a diverse caseload, handling matters related to Wills, administration of estates, LPAs, trusts, and estate planning.
- Prepare legal documents, including drafting Wills, trusts, and LPAs.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date case files, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations.
- Offer guidance during probate and estate administration processes, drafting associated documents such as Legal Statements, HMRC forms, and Deeds of Variation.
- Contribute to marketing and business development activities for the team and firm.
- Supervise and support more junior team members.
- Administer trusts created both in lifetime and on death, ensuring HMRC compliance and collaborating with trustees, investment advisers, and accountants.
- Engage in business development to grow a network of introducers and raise the profile of the team and firm.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified solicitor or experienced fee earner with expertise in private client law.
- Strong knowledge of Wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, tax planning, and asset protection.
- Ideally, experience with succession planning for rural/farming clients.
- Preferably a qualified member of STEP.
- Ability to balance client demands, caseload, and non-casework responsibilities.
- Adherence to file and case management policies and procedures.
- Accurate recording of all time, chargeable and non-chargeable.
- Efficient billing of files.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice and achieving positive client outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills in relevant practice areas.
- Willingness to engage in business development activities.
