The Opportunity: A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Principal Associate lawyer to join the ambitious Sports, Media & Entertainment team, specialising in sports law. The team represents players' associations, individual sports people, clubs and agents on a wide range of sports law matters including regulatory issues and contractual matters, image rights and marketability, as well as on personal matters. As a sports lawyer in this team, you will be responsible for regulatory disputes and conducting international and domestic dispute resolution (including litigation, arbitration and mediations) in various courts and tribunals (primarily domestic sports tribunals, FIFA, UEFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport). The Ideal Candidate: It is essential that you have good regulatory and/or dispute resolution experience from a leading law firm or in-house team, having handled complex regulatory/contentious sports law matters and ideally media & entertainment experience. The successful candidate will also have the following skills and attributes: · Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE. · Widespread knowledge of, and strong experience in, sport and football in particular and the legal and regulatory issues involved therein. · Experience in entertainment & media will be favourable but is not essential. · Exceptional networking skills and the ability to generate leads. · Working knowledge of general commercial and corporate laws and employment law. · The ability to build and strengthen relationships with clients and potential clients and enthusiasm for business development. · Strong attention to detail. Whilst not essential, the ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following: · Language skills (ideally Spanish) or the drive to learn Spanish. · Contributions to/willingness to contribute to Sports Law publications. · Masters in International Sports Law.
