How do you like to start the day?
Breathing.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
A photograph of my father.
Who is your closest colleague?
Oliver, he sits three feet away. Other than Oliver, the whole firm is very close and we feel like one big family. Our independence and culture is something we are hugely proud of.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
My grandfather’s WW1 medals.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
Without a doubt this would have to be “Strange Town” by The Jam.
What’s your favourite play?
Shakespeare’s Henry IV Part 1.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Clint Eastwood.
What’s your favourite book?
What book are you reading right now?
March Violets by Philip Kerr.
What book do you wish you had written?
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
Ink.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Every summer, I’m faced with the same wish that I was better at tennis.
Who inspires you in business?
My competitors.
In the office do you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
Up and only up.
Where do you go to relax?
Our garden.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
I’d love to go to Japan.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
A suit.
What’s the best part of your job?
The variety that comes as part of it.
How do you unwind after work?
By laughing.
Finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Reading The Times newspaper on a Saturday morning in our kitchen whilst drinking strong coffee and eating a Melvyn Davis iced bun. Bliss.
