Keeley Lengthorn, a recognised first-class children lawyer who practises predominately in public law children proceedings, shares her passions and interests with The Brief.

In addition to public law, Keeley Lengthorn also practises in private law Children Act matters, family law domestic abuse matters and surrogacy. Alongside being a busy family lawyer, she is recognised as one of the leading baby loss campaigners in the UK and is the founder of George’s Law, providing statutory protection for paid leave to parents who suffer a baby loss under 24 weeks gestation.

How do you like to start the day?

By going to the gym.

What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?

My Barbie photos on my office wall. They are supposed to be Keeley/Barbie replicas but are more Barbie than Keeley!

Who is your closest colleague?

Too many to name. I work with some amazing people!

Do you have a favourite family heirloom?

Our 70-year-old Tortoise that lives at my parents.

What’s your favourite song of all time?

The Love I Lost” by West End featuring Sybil.

What’s your favourite play?

Romeo and Juliet

Who’s your favourite movie star?

Daniel Craig as Bond and Tom Cruise.

What’s your favourite book?

Cosmopolitan or OK! Magazine. Does this count??!

What book are you reading right now?

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden.

What book do you wish you had written?

Romeo and Juliet.

What’s the greatest invention of all time?

Hair straighteners.

Is there a sport you wish you could play?

I wish I could be a professional ice skater.

In the office do you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?

Dress up ALWAYS. Karen Millen and the Pretty Dress company are my best friends.

Where do you go to relax?

The boxing gym.

What country have you always wanted to visit?

New Zealand, as it’s my favourite wine.

Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?

A lipstick.

What’s the best part of your job?

Working directly with parents and young people and seeing them turn their lives around, especially working directly with teenagers and helping them navigate their issues and come out the other side a better person.

How do you unwind after work?

Heading to the boxing gym.

Eating Mini Eggs whilst watching The Bold Type.
