CV Best Practice
Our experience and contact with employers mean we understand what makes a CV most effective. We’ll work with you to make yours work its hardest for you, but in the meantime, take a look at these guidelines to start fine-tuning your CV.
Simplicity is Crucial
Limit content to 4 sections – Including Education, Legal Experience, Relevant Non-Legal Experience and Interests.
Concise content – Give examples of the cases and work you’ve handled, and list the clients and their activities to show expertise in those areas.
Show you’re a business builder – It’s good to demonstrate you have been promoting your existing firm, so highlight your part in any marketing activities or events such as breakfast meetings, seminars, networking and the like.
Interests - This can communicate the kind of person you are, allowing potential employers to get a fuller picture of your personality.
Our pro-forma CV will be particularly useful in helping make your application stand out.
