Interim Senior Legal Counsel (14-Month Fixed-Term Contract) Start Date: Mid-August 2026 Location: North West England (Hybrid Working 3 days per week in the office) Contract: 14-Month Fixed-Term Contract Are you an experienced commercial lawyer looking for a varied and high-impact interim opportunity? We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join the legal team of a well-established international business operating in a highly-regulated sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-to-senior level lawyer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, influencing business decisions and providing practical legal solutions in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the business across a broad range of legal and compliance matters while acting as a trusted adviser to senior colleagues. Key Responsibilities: - Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts. - Providing pragmatic legal advice across procurement, supplier and customer matters. - Supporting compliance initiatives, including the delivery of training and awareness programmes. - Advising on data protection and privacy matters, including responding to data subject requests. - Managing external legal advisers where appropriate. - Developing legal precedents, guidance and best practice to support the wider business. - Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple business functions. About You - Qualified commercial lawyer with experience gained in an in-house environment. - Knowledge of compliance and data protection matters, with UK GDPR experience essential. - A pragmatic, business-focused approach to legal risk. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience working within a regulated environment (desirable).
