Senior Associate / Legal Director - Employment | Birmingham
A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate / Legal Director to join its highly regarded Employment team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer to take on significant client responsibility, work across a broad range of employment matters and play an active role in the continued development of the team. Flexible working is available.
The Role:
Advise a broad range of clients, including businesses, company owners, HR professionals, in-house legal teams and senior executives.
Handle a varied caseload covering both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Advise on disciplinary and grievance matters, dismissals, redundancy and restructuring.
Manage Employment Tribunal claims, including whistleblowing and discrimination matters.
Support corporate transactions, including advising on TUPE.
Advise on employment documentation and wider employee relations issues.
Assist with and lead client investigations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and develop relationships across the wider firm.
Supervise and support junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals.
Contribute to business development and the growth of the Employment practice.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified solicitor or equivalent with significant employment law experience.
Demonstrable experience across contentious, non-contentious and transactional employment matters.
Confident managing your own caseload and providing commercially focused advice.
Strong technical knowledge and excellent drafting skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Commercially minded with a strong understanding of client needs and expectations.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience supervising and supporting junior colleagues.
