Employment Senior Associate / Legal Director | Leeds | Leading National Firm The Firm A leading national law firm is looking to appoint an Employment Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its growing Leeds office. The Team The Employment team is one of the fastest-growing practice areas within the firm and is recognised for advising a broad range of clients across both the public and private sectors. The Leeds team is particularly well established, handling a varied mix of contentious, non-contentious and corporate support work. The team advises employers on the full spectrum of employment law issues, while also supporting senior executives and individuals on employment disputes, exits and contractual matters. Recent growth elsewhere in the Leeds office has also created a significant pipeline of corporate support work. The Role This is a broad employment position offering exposure to a mix of advisory, transactional and tribunal work. The team is flexible and can accommodate candidates whose preference is for contentious work, non-contentious advisory matters or a balanced mix of both. Key responsibilities include: · Advising employers on a wide range of employment law and HR matters. · Handling Employment Tribunal litigation, including discrimination and whistleblowing claims. · Advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures, restructures, redundancies and workforce change projects. · Supporting corporate transactions, including TUPE matters. · Assisting with workplace investigations and employee relations issues. · Advising senior employees and executives on contractual and exit matters. · Building and maintaining strong client relationships. · Supporting and supervising junior team members. · Contributing to business development initiatives. The Candidate · Qualified Employment Solicitor with strong employment law experience gained within private practice. · Experience across contentious, non-contentious and/or corporate support employment matters. · Confident managing a varied caseload and providing commercial, pragmatic advice. · Strong client relationship and business development skills. · Ambitious lawyer looking to play a key role within a growing team.
