The founder of iPNOTE, a Palo Alto-headquartered AI-powered platform that automates 90% of the hassle around international IP management for companies worldwide, shares his passions and interests.
How do you like to start the day?
I usually start by getting my three children ready for daycare and school. Then I work out, take a shower, and make a healthy breakfast with good fats.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
My laptop – with it, my office can be anywhere in the world. Well, as long as there’s decent Wi-Fi, then I can keep growing my company and pursuing our mission to make intellectual property management efficient for businesses of all sizes.
Who is your closest colleague?
Our CTO – we’ve been working together for more than four years and built a product I’m proud of as a patent attorney.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
No, but I’d love to create one for the future.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
“Wind of Change” by Scorpions – it always gives me a feeling of freedom.
What’s your favourite play?
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Tom Hanks. I love how he can play both serious and funny roles, always with sincerity.
What’s your favourite book?
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami – no comments, just read it.
What book are you reading right now?
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey.
What book do you wish you had written?
A book about how AI can transform the dullest world of intellectual property and make it exciting – because IP is at the core of how innovation is protected, and it deserves to be talked about in a way that inspires people.
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
The internet and mobile devices. Oh, and I also think refrigerators played a very important role:)
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Surfing – one day I’ll master the waves in Bali.
Who inspires you in business?
Theodore Roosevelt. His words, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are,” always inspire me.
In the office do you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
It depends on who’s looking and from which angle – but always neat and tidy.
Where do you go to relax?
Somewhere high in the mountains, or at the edge of the continent by the ocean.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Iceland.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
Pretty much an Apple Store.
What’s the best part of your job?
Creating a product that once seemed impossible, and seeing how it helps companies protect their intellectual property in smarter, faster, and more affordable ways.
How do you unwind after work?
I take care of things at home – kids, the dog, cooking, or working in the garden.
Finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Potato chips.
