Blaser Mills has welcomed partner Carlos Pierce as head of the real estate and infrastructure team and telecoms group.

Blaser Mills has officially opened its new office in Marlow. The new office, located at Liston Exchange, Cromwell Gardens, Marlow, Buckinghamshire SL7 1BG, is headed up by partner Jonathan Gallop, head of wills, trusts and probate. He is joined by partners Lucinda Holliday, head of the family & divorce team and James Simpson, head of data protection. Also joining the new office is Samantha Bellia, senior associate in residential property.

Ellisons has bolstered its dispute resolution team in Essex following the appointment and relocation of associate solicitor, Emma Jenkins, who will be taking up permanent residence in the firm’s Chelmsford office. Jenkins is a member of the Property Litigation Association.

1 Crown Office Row in Brighton has welcomed Taryn Lee QC (call 1992, Silk 2012) and Kate Hughes QC (call 1992, Silk 2021) as associate members. Lee has over 25 years’ experience in the field of family law. Hughes specialises in all aspects of public and private law children work acting for children, family and local authorities.

Penningtons Manches Cooper has made three partner promotions in the Guildford office. Oliver Kidd joined the firm in 2019 to lead its IP, IT and commercial offering in Guildford. He is a commercial contracts specialist, advising businesses on the full range of technology agreements and other commercial contracts. Laura Naser is a family lawyer specialising in advising HNW/UHNW private individuals in financial and children’s disputes in both married and unmarried circumstances. Elizabeth Nicholas’ practice encompasses a broad range of private client work, with a particular focus on tax and estate planning. Meanwhile, Penningtons Manches Cooper has promoted Daniel Berry to partner in the Reading office and Charlotte D’Avola in the Basingstoke office. Cross-qualified as a lawyer and trade mark attorney, Berry advises on all aspects of intellectual property protection and enforcement in the UK and EU including trademarks, passing off, domain names, anti-counterfeiting, design rights, copyright and confidential information. Social housing specialist D’Avola has been a member of the firm’s social housing team since 2007.

Blake Morgan has appointed Jennifer Williamson as a partner within the firm’s family practice. With over 15 years’ experience, Williamson re-joins the firm’s Southampton office as a partner, having previously worked for Blake Morgan for more than three years, including as legal director.

Rachel Ford joined Gatwick Airport’s executive team on 19 April 2022 to replace Robert Herga as general counsel and company secretary. Existing general counsel and company secretary Herga will retire later this year.

Arqiva Financing plc has confirmed the resignation of Jeremy Mavor as secretary of the company with effect from 6 April 2022. Meanwhile, Arqiva has announced the appointment of Katrina Dick as secretary of the company to succeed Mavor.

PensionBee Group plc has announced that Lara Oyesanya has been appointed to the board as a non-executive director, with effect from the earlier date of the company’s anticipated transfer to the premium segment of the main market of the London Stock Exchange or 21 April 2022. Oyesanya is the general counsel and company secretary at Zepz Group.

Blake Morgan has promoted Elizabeth Covil to partner in the Southampton office where she is a commercial property lawyer. She specialises in the purchase, sale, development and disposal of commercial property.

Birkett Long has appointed Philip Hoddell as chairman with effect from 1 June 2022. Hoddell takes over from Kurt Goddard, who has held the position since 2019 and is stepping down from the partnership, but remaining with the firm as a consultant. The managing partner will continue to be Martin Hopkins for another three-year term.

EMW Law LLP has appointed Daisy Waldren and Adrian McClinton as real estate principals in the firm’s Gatwick office.

Cripps has announced that James Beatton, head of corporate, will succeed Gavin Tyler as managing partner of the firm in May 2023. Tyler will retire from Cripps on 30 April 2023 after 39 years. He became head of the corporate division in 2005, and became managing partner in 2013. Beatton has more than 25 years’ experience working with businesses in London and the South East on a full range of corporate and advisory matters.

Thomson Snell & Passmore has welcomed Suzanne Bowman to its residential conveyancing team. Bowman has specific expertise in listed and heritage buildings, alongside experience of land and property sales and acquisitions, rural property, estate issues, rights of way, land options and developments.

Thomson Snell & Passmore has appointed Simon Mitchell as the firm’s new head of wills, estate and tax planning.

Irwin Mitchell has appointed Vicky Lambert as an in-house counsellor in the family law team. Lambert is a highly experienced British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited counsellor who has, for the last 14 years, supported private clients and individuals within various organisations.

Blake Morgan has appointed Louise di Mambro OBE as a consultant in its Privy Council team on her retirement as Registrar of the Privy Council and UK Supreme Court.

IBB Law has welcomed Terri Warren as a senior associate in its Reading office. Warren has more than ten years’ experience in the real estate sector, specialising in the residential development and social housing sector, acting for developers and landowners.

Thomson Snell & Passmore has appointed chartered tax advisor, Kyle Barford. He joins the firm’s trust & management division from CaseWare UK, a supplier of audit financial reporting and tax software to accountants and auditors. Prior to that, he was a client tax manager in the private client tax team for accountancy firm, Creaseys.

Birkett Long has welcomed associate solicitor Carla Jones to its dispute resolution team. She has particular expertise in breach of directors’ duties, civil fraud and professional negligence. Meanwhile, Jacqui McGuirk has joined the DR team as a solicitor, qualifying in 2018.

RWS Holdings plc, a provider of technology-enabled language, content and intellectual property services, has announced the appointment of Jane Hyde as general counsel and company secretary, effective 1 October 2022. She will join the group executive team and will attend the group’s board and committee meetings. Hyde is currently general counsel and company secretary of De La Rue plc.

Infinium Logistics, a global logistics solutions business, has appointed Chris Fletcher as general counsel. He has extensive experience in rapid growth environments, building and scaling and legal compliance functions in the technology, real estate and asset management sectors.

Unicorn AIM VCT plc has appointed Josephine Tubbs as a non-executive director. Tubbs qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and worked in private practice for several years before becoming an in-house lawyer in 1997.

Rod Hutchison, a director in the corporate finance team at MacRoberts, has been appointed to Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group’s board of directors.

Irwin Mitchell has announced that Sam Knight has re-joined the firm as a partner in the property division based in the firm’s Chichester office. 

Victoria Dingle has joined Harrison Clark Rickerbys as a new partner in the firm’s banking and finance team. 

Attwaters Jameson Hill has announced that Sheri-Anne Mizon, head of residential property team (Loughton), has been appointed managing partner from 1 May 2022. 

Attwaters Jameson Hill recently promoted Stephanie Holmes to partner. Holmes joined the firm in 2000 and has worked within the family law department, in a fee-earning capacity, since 2004. She was made associate in 2018.

Kent firm Furley Page has appointed Sarah Webster as a partner in the firm’s commercial property team. 

Archers Law and Bawtrees LLP in Essex have merged, and Maria Calvy has become a partner.

Kreston Reeves has promoted Gemma Spencer to partner and joint head of legal services. Spencer advises families and individuals on wills, inheritance tax planning, trusts, probate and powers of attorney. She joined the firm in 2017.
