Background
After several months searching for an antitrust lawyer through direct campaigns and utilising other legal recruiters, Samsung instructed BCL Legal for the role based in Chertsey, Surrey.
Challenges
- Limited scope - the highly specialised nature of the role made it difficult
- Locality - the role was outside London
- Budget restrictions - generally less appealling to lawyers in the South East
Solution
The role involved working primarily under European Antitrust and Competition Law. Therefore, given the budget restrictions, it made sense to observe mainland European lawyers who’d expressed an interest in working in the UK.
Result
The In-house team identified a specialist antitrust and competition lawyer on BCL’s database. We put the lawyer candidate forward who after several interviews and presentations, was successful in landing the role.
